Megan is an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor at the Phoenix. She earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Utah Valley University in 2024. Before becoming a therapist, she spent over 10 years as a high school teacher, where she taught English, character development, and JROTC. She also served as a reservist in the Utah Army National Guard, where she spent over 13 years supporting soldiers through resilience and suicide prevention work.
Her professional journey has given her the privilege of working with at-risk youth, service members, and individuals from diverse backgrounds — experiences that have shaped her grounded and compassionate approach to therapy. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses a blend of evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapy, and mindfulness and exploration therapy.
She specializes in working with addiction, substance use, trauma, PTSD, veterans, adolescents, and members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. She strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and move toward healing and growth
She values balance in her life outside of work and enjoys traveling, spending time by the ocean, watching sports (Go Chargers!), going hiking, and being with her family. She brings a down-to-earth, compassionate, and authentic approach to her work — always aiming to create a safe space where people can be real, feel supported, and discover their resilience.
