Michelle Jarest

Therapist

Michelle began her journey in social work out of a desire to make a difference in the world and help others feel seen and heard. She earned her bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in Political Science from the University of Utah in 2020, and went on to complete her master’s in social work at Utah State University in 2023.

With over six years of experience in the mental and behavioral health field, Michelle has worked with individuals facing challenges such as chronic homelessness, substance use, mood disorders, and personality disorders. Her background spans residential, outpatient, nonprofit, and private practice settings, allowing her to connect with clients from all walks of life.

Michelle believes therapy works best when clients feel safe, accepted, and understood. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply rooted in compassion. She strongly believes in trauma-informed, ethical care and strives to balance gentle guidance with empowering clients to take actionable steps toward the life they want.

She is trained in trauma-focused modalities such as EMDR and CPT, and integrates ACT, DBT, and CBT to help clients build awareness, self-compassion, and tools for lasting change.

Michelle specializes in working with individuals navigating complex trauma, substance use, codependency, perfectionism, and self-criticism who are ready to reclaim their authentic selves. Having walked her own healing path, Michelle understands that the therapeutic journey isn’t always linear, but it is always worth it. She feels honored to walk alongside her clients as they reconnect with their values, intuition, higher selves, and inner strength.

Outside of the office, Michelle loves spending time with her fiancé and their dog, Roman. She enjoys outdoor adventures with friends — hiking, camping, golfing, and skiing in the winter. For quieter moments, she enjoys curling up with a good book, playing a cozy video game, or watching her favorite reality TV shows.
