Our Approach to Healing
Healing at The Phoenix is a process of growth, not a quick fix. Our comprehensive continuum of care supports clients through every stage of recovery, helping them build a foundation for lasting wellness.
You can select one of three focuses for therapy and group work: mental health treatment, addiction treatment, or dual-diagnosis care, which is an integrative addiction treatment track for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. No matter the track, we focus on treating the whole person and the root causes of their behavioral health challenges.

At The Phoenix Recovery Center, we approach recovery with customizable treatment plans that are as unique as each person we treat. We focus on lasting transformation through trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapies including, but not limited to, EMDR, DBT, CBT, IFS, and Somatic Therapy.
FULL CONTINUUM OF CARE
Patients are admitted to one of three levels of care and gradually step down in program intensity to sustain hard-earned recovery and reduce the risk of post-treatment relapse, program graduates continue outpatient therapy for as long as needed.

Together, Jake and Emily Shoff, built The Phoenix Recovery Center as a place of healing, connection, and transformation with the intention to help people rise, to restore lives, and to ensure The Phoenix continues to “Rise Above” for generations to come.
OUR EXCEPTIONAL TEAM
Our team of mental health and addiction clinicians, plus medical and psychiatry providers bring authenticity, ethics, and compassion to TPRC. We work as one team under one roof, prioritizing patients and providers' wellbeing to ensure quality care.
OUR LUXURIOUS FACILITIES
Patients at all levels of care receive treatment under the same roof, in our South Jordan facility located at 489 W South Jordan Pkwy, Ste 400, South Jordan, UT 84095. Residential patients can access an on-site fitness and recreation center, chef-prepared meals, co-ed common rooms and recreation rooms with activities, and gender-specific bedrooms and common areas.
ACCEPTING PATIENT REFERRALS
We have strong relationships with local medical, psychological, and psychiatric providers who trust us with their patients’ long-term recovery. We accept patient referrals and can coordinate referrals to local providers for complex care plans such as alcohol and drug detox prior to admittance to our residential or part-time treatment programs during the day or evening.
COLLABORATIVE CARE
We coordinate patients’ next steps for healing, referring them to treatment centers, hospitals, and Utah-based non-profits to ensure they receive the right care when they need it. Plus, TPRC has established relationships with some of Utah’s largest employers to allow for streamlined Employee Assistance Program (EAP) referrals for professionals in high-stress industries.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center for Both Addiction and Mental Health
Many of our clients face co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, which can intensify and re-trigger one another. We are experts in treating co-occurring disorders with a fully integrated approach that blends clinical therapy, medication management, and emotional education.
Our licensed clinical and medical teams commonly provide treatment for:
- Depression and anxiety
- Suicidal ideation
- Bipolar disorder
- PTSD and trauma-related disorders
- Personality and mood disorders

- Dissociative Disorders
- Postpartum and seasonal depression

In Network with Select Health, BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, United Healthcare, University of Utah Health Plans, PEHP, Cigna, Tricare, United Behavioral Health, Imagine Health, EMI Health, DMBA, ComPsych, and MotivHealth.
MEDICAID IN-NETWORK WITH:
We accept Medicaid plans including the University of Utah Medicaid (Healthy U Medicaid), Health Choice Utah, and Utah State Medicaid, and Select Health Community Care.
ALTERNATE PAYMENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE
We accept all out-of-network insurances, cash pay, and offer financing options through Sunbit to accommodate all Utah and out-of-state residents without in-network insurance.
